This record was made by alto saxophonist Benny Carter and his Orchestra in 1936.
*Benny Carter who was born in New York during August 1907 was already sitting in with bands at Harlem night spots by age fifteen. He gained his professional experience as a sideman with some of New York's top Jazz bands from the mid to late 1920's. His career as a musician spanned nearly 80 years ending only with his retirement in 1997.
*Benny first appeared on record in 1928 with "Charlie Johnson's Orchestra," also arranging the titles recorded, forming his first big band the following year.
*In addition to his legendary saxophone playing, and his skill for composition and arrangement, Benny was also a competent pianist, clarinetist, and trumpeter.
