Billie Holiday made this recording of the Cole Porter classic "Night and Day" in 1939 in New York City.

*Cole Porter wrote the song for the 1932 musical "Gay Divorce" starring Fred Astaire and it was perhaps his most popular contribution to the Great American Songbook.

*The song was so closely associated with Porter that when Hollywood first filmed his life story in 1946, the movie was entitled "Night and Day."
