This segment captures the legendary vaudeville team "Buck and Bubbles" starring in their 1937 film "Varsity Show."
*The piano playing song and dance combination of "Buck and Bubbles" was formed during the 1910's in Louisville, Kentucky when piano player Ford Lee Washington (“Buck”) was nine, and dancer John W. Sublett (“Bubbles”) was thirteen. A few years later they became the first African Americans ever to perform on stage at Louisville’s Mary Anderson Theatre.
