The "Count Basie Orchestra" perform at the at the University of Kansas in 1974 featuring soloists Bobby Mitchell (trumpet), and Jimmy Forrest (tenor sax).

Featured in the 1979 documentary "The Last of the Blue Devils" produced and directed by Bruce Ricker, Count Basie leads his big band in a number written by his Kansas City mentor Bennie Moten.

At the end of this segment Basie offers explanation as to the likable outgoing chartered of the legendary bandleader and composer.
