An alto saxophonist of exceptional talent Hal McIntyre stared his professional career with a brief stint playing with Benny Goodman.

After less than two weeks with Goodman he was drafted by the "Glenn Miller Orchestra" where he remained from 1937 until 1941 when he organized his own band.
