In this clip from 1943 saxophonist Louis Jordan's Tympany Five perform his hit "Five Guys Named Moe".
Louis Jordan began playing swing with big-bands during the 1930s but would achieve greater fame as a leading innovator of "jump blues" a stylistic precursor to the arrival of R&B.
Although he favored the alto sax, Jordan was equally adept on all forms of saxophone.
